I'm so excited about this! It was just a couple of weeks ago that I got to watch the early bits of a Jelly in Baltimore come together. I've been watching from afar and things are coming together fast!!! Nice work Dave!
I think Dave knows where we're at here since we've spoken about our situation, but I'll share with everyone else in the interest of sharing. We've got 13 full time desks and 9 "flex" (lite and dropin) desks in a 1700ish sq foot room. That also includes our lobby, our conference room, kitchen, and lounge. We started with less permanent (2 including myself) and a lot of flex, and since then the scales have tipped on their own and the balance has established itself. That took a couple of months, but it was headed that direction before we even signed the lease. Clearly, the more full time desks, the better our profit margin. However culturally, the daily mix of new people in the non full time desks makes it much more ideal. We could sell all of our desks as permanent with the waiting list we currently have, but won't. Some of this is also a product of the physical layout of a space, I think. We experimented with a few different layouts (and still periodically shift and optimize). Getting some actual floorplans to move paper "desks" around on will be a HUGE help. Is there any interest in a floorplan-swap? Anyone particularly good in Sketchup and willing to donate some time to "prettifying" our floorplans? -Alex -- ----- -- ----- Alex Hillman im always developing something digital: [EMAIL PROTECTED] visual: www.dangerouslyawesome.com local: www.indyhall.org On Fri, Nov 21, 2008 at 4:03 PM, Dave Troy <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > Hey folks, > > We're pleased to announce the formation of Beehive Baltimore, the > first formalized coworking initiative in Baltimore! > > We've been meeting informally and are looking to open a space in the > next few weeks.
