Same. We've got a part time admin who helps open the space, takes care of some basic member paperwork and billing, and helps with events as well, but not a "receptionist".
As far as phones, all of our members bring cell phones and a few brought their own vonage boxes. Much like CS, people take others into consideration and if a call is long, step into the conference room, lounge, hall, etc. We're admittedly not as "phone call friendly" as some potential members would like us to be, but we're OK with that. We've discussed installing a "phone booth " of some sort, but it wasn't nearly as high on the "priority of improvements" list as something like...hiring a cleaning service or having more A/V equipment and a better way to store it. Bottom line, and I've said it a zillion times before: don't ask us, ask your members-to-be. I could tell you "don't bother with phones" and be totally wrong, if that's what your members want and need. The flip side to this, and we've also discussed this here, is just because your members say they want something doesn't mean they will use it. If it's a large investment (which phone systems can be), make sure that it's a worthwhile investment. Something like the "commitment card" from the other post seems like it could be a good way to poll people on what they use every day, too. I still really, really like that idea and look forward to seeing it implemented! -Alex, IndyHall -- ----- -- ----- Alex Hillman im always developing something digital: [EMAIL PROTECTED] visual: www.dangerouslyawesome.com local: www.indyhall.org On Mon, Nov 24, 2008 at 12:22 AM, Tara Hunt <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Citizen Space has no receptionist and the landline is used mostly just for > the front door.
