I think a "collaboration cave" (was that on your name list) could happen anywhere. It's not my personal preference (high ceilings, big windows, etc), but I'm not the person renting from you. You might find a whole new breed of vitamin-d deficient coworkers! Why not try something cheap or free, like hosting a jelly in your basement work area?
