If you can get your community excited about colocating in an available
office space, I say go for it.
Ultimately, your members may decide that the space won't work long-
term, or other factors may arise, but working there may give you and
your coworkers the opportunity to develop some history with each
other, preferences, social norms, etc that will help make your future
home(s) even better.
The fact that you're worried about protecting the ethos, and asking
the question, is probably a good sign.
