Dear Space Owners, Collaborators & Community Builders, Please allow me to write freely here! I have really enjoyed being apart of this "think tank" and now I really want to dig deeper with you all!!
As you may or may not I know already, I run EcoHub in San Diego. Here are some differences in talents that I've noticed between us... First, I am a Green Leader (my blog: http://thechiefgreenofficer.com/) and am not a web designer/ coder/ internet-social media techie/ App developer. I am thoroughly impressed with all the websites that I've visited and can see the talent come thru in that regard. I can honestly say we need to get our site up to par quickly. But, I want to go deeper today, because I have always relied on help from my mentors and the reality is that coworking is so new to San Diego ---- I feel like I can compare this to being the first restaurateur in San Diego! Ok, enough with the drama... here's what I want to know.... What do you do/ offer to keep members coming back and wanting to stay??? My $250 and up members stay on avg (est) for 2-4 hours per visit... and visits range too! We opened in April and we have 10 members, so I'm not complaining, but what do you find valuable in your own spaces that #1) make you want to stay and #2) make your members want to stay?? Please list them out!!! They can be purposeful or on accident... I have a list of ideas, but I want to compare notes. I think we (space owners) can all benefit from having this open discussion and I would also welcome and encourage space users to chime in. Building a community in today's economic environment can be challenging, but it is our job and the business we've chosen to be in! I sincerely appreciate the "street buzz/ street cred" we've earned, but I do want the place rocking all day, every day, so that new visitors/ potential users are "WOWed" by activity and not just the space design...
