A few thoughts: 1. I was able to obtain a space where I am splitting costs with the owner; this has been incredibly nice. Not breaking even, but with one more member, dependent upon level, I will be able to do so. 2. In a smaller community, I find it takes longer time to have success. Keep in mind I am in the midwest, where people are quite conservative, and coworking is seen more as cow-orking. (Yes, we do have cows in Indiana. In fact, I have milked one. :-)). However, within the last week, I have had 10 inquires. My space has been open 6 months. 3. Regional reach is oh so important. Fort Wayne has a population 250,000 (approx.), in the outlying county there is an additional 50,000 population. And in the region there are approximately 1 million with many people Many of the those who live outside of Ft. Wayne lack 2 things (1.) Contacts with those in leadership in Ft. Wayne (2.) High Speed internet. Connecting these individuals to at least one has allowed OurSpace to have some traction. As there are a number of individuals in cities 2 hours away, I have been able to gain some traction as well from individuals who travel here on a reg. basis.
