This doesn't make sense to me. We've had some pretty big parties, sponsored by a winemaker, a beer company and a local wine show, and heavily promoted as such. At the last one, along with the sponsored beer, we had a group of local home-brewers serving their concoctions. (I actually got arrested and taken into the copy shop during the last one, but not for serving alcohol!)
I had asked my insurance about it and they were totally cool as long as we weren't selling.
