Garth, At Urban ReThink, we held a "ribbon tying" - the first two were the tie from around the Mayor's neck and a ribbon representing our organization. Then other participants and donors added their ribbons to his. The massive meta-ribbon continues to grow to this day - one of our members invented it, and she is planning to take this project to other spaces as an art installation.
We picked up several short lengths of ribbon to "seed" the larger ribbon and a $5 suggested donation gets you a length of ribbon that you can add on to the current end of the installation.
