At Indy Hall, we've focused heavily on relationships with every action we
take and support. This includes projects & the founding of companies. We
don't take creating companies lightly and don't believe that people should,
since it's a legal binding that's just as complicated to undo as a marriage
(and sometimes more costly).

I think "dating" is a good analogy, but the approach to speed-dating
typically brings together desperation and misunderstood intentions. It also
brings together an imbalance of "has" and "needs". If you're at a point
where you "need" a co-founder in order to create a business, that's like
saying "I need to find a wife so I can get married". Technically possible,
but usually not the healthiest way to form a relationship.

My friend Amy (who I've worked with multiple times now, but only AFTER
becoming friends and, in fact, attending her wedding) covers this in very
practical, no-nonsense terms here:

Bottom line: if you're helping people form real, honest, authentic
relationships, the businesses that come from those relationships will last
much, much longer and be healthier for the people and the business.
