The drive for efficiency, the insatiable thirst for knowledge and our love of
new stuff is great and terrible.
Check out I AM - Shadyac's new flick. http://www.iamthedoc.com/
I disagree when Shadyac says "we are far too grander than what we've told" We
are flawed - but I do agree that we are wired for community!

"The truth of who we are is that, we are, because we belong" Desmond Tutu

3D's cool, but our body chemistry, entire body positioning, full range of voice
inflection and physical touch cannot be translated (yet?) through technology.

The drive towards coworking, communal living, village planning, etc., I think,
is a reaction to the area where efficiency ruled our lives.
What tastes better - fast food or a meal prepared by a master chef? Sure it
cost more - but the experience is worth it and the time we get to spend with
our date is priceless.
High Tech is cool but High Touch is what makes the life better.

Big virtual hugs to you all!

Chad
