Hello All, My name is Salim Mhunzi and I am the founder of Innovation Labs. We are a coworking collective with plans to open a space in Harlem, New York sometime this year. This forum has been an incredible resource to listen and learn from you all as I work to put the pieces together to make this happen. Thank You.
Little background, I've lived and worked in Harlem for nearly five years and was motivated to start a coworking space because of my own frustrations with working from home and searching for places to work in the community. Not only are there very few places to work from, but there are limited resources and a major lack of educational opportunities for the entrepreneur or social innovator. Innovation Labs grew from this and aims to turn the expectations for innovation on its head by looking at the innovations developing in urban communities. We are currently meeting Jelly Style every Wednesday @ Maysles Cinema 343 Lenox Ave. (Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches Every Week) We use Meetup to organize and can also be found @ http://www.harlemcoworking.com | I would love to talk to anyone who has experience or is interested in helping to make this happen. Please respond to this thread or if you are so inclined feel free to email me @ [email protected] Some of the things I have questions on are: 1) Developing a sound business model 2.) Forming Educational Partnerships 3.) Fundraising Opportunities 4.) Connecting with other coworking spaces Salim Mhunzi [email protected] @iamsalim www.salim.cc -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Coworking" group.
