Hi Alexa and Eli,

I've been trying to resolve the same issues. I'm a web designer and
illustrator in OC and used to be a set designer in LA years ago and
understand the problems you are discussing. One of the key issues you
bring up is space for work and for storage. I think space planners
have to factor in greater square footage per person in this model. The
great thing about web developers/designers/writers is they need less
space and next to no things which really suits compact coworking well.
I think a blended space can solve the issues and have been kicking
around ideas for years yet haven't acted.

Eli, from bouncing around in architecture, set design, illustration
and web development, I think they go great together. I know one
inspires the next so blending them with coworking makes a lot of sense
to me. I'd love to point you to some successful models of it, but the
one I know best is stuck in my head and hasn't got out yet.

Good luck!

Chris Kerins
