Ok, so all the local groups are closed to you, because you're not a GOB (Good Ol' Boy). Not a problem.
1. You got a volunteer fire company? EMS? Call em up. Sponsor a mass casualty event, or let them sell hot dogs from the front porch at a craft fair, or whatever. Local volunteer fire companies and EMS are normally filled with the local blue and some white collar workers. And they know EVERYBODY. And I mean EVERYBODY. Get in good with them. It doesn't take a lot of money. Invite them over for a pizza party, and let them bring the cops too. Tell them what you want. "I love local volunteer services, and I love the mindset that First Responders have. They want to get to a problem, dig in, solve it, and help people. I like the same things, and so do the members of my co-working space. I'm looking for more members, and to build a good relationship with our neighbors. IF you know anyone, here's some flyers. IF not, thanks for your service, and enjoy the pizza." 2. Sponsor (with the local library) a business book club. Hold meetings alternately at a local coffee house, the space, and the library. Or some such. 3. Sponsor a Entrepreneurial discussion group. Same idea as above. Hope these help. Joshua On Thu, Feb 9, 2012 at 9:01 AM, Nancy <[email protected]> wrote: > I would love to Andrea!
