I’ve been coworking at various spaces in San Francisco. I am now at the
HUB SF. The HUB is interesting because it has a lot of non-tech companies
and it also has an accelerator (Hub Ventures). The HUB is big about
community and getting people to collaborate. At first, I thought it’s easy
to get people to communicate and there are a lot of free tools out there.
I have discovered this is not true. Coworkers value the coworking
community where they work. Founders are more inclined to answer questions
from another founder at the same space. 500 Startups and Y Combinator have
their own internal collaboration platforms for their portfolio companies,
such as www.dashboard.io.

For the past few years, we have been developing a platform to cluster local
businesses in neighborhoods. Our environment is very similar to coworking
spaces - many companies clustered together. Our platform empowers the
companies to collaborate, to organize events, to ask questions and
answers.

The platform includes membership management and payment. This is how we run
our business. We support multiple membership plans, companies can change
plan in the middle of a subscription period. We have online invoicing where
we can charge other services or made invoice adjustments.

Recently, we have customized our platform for Coworking Space. You can
read about it at www.coworkingdashboard.com. The features include

-- Event Calendar – where companies can also post their events

-- Company Profile

-- Team Members controlled by the company

-- Discussion Forum with email subscription managed by MailChimp and
posting restricted to only team members. A team member can also post to
affiliate working spaces (good for alliance)

-- Membership management with AutoPay payment.

-- Buy Day Pass and Meeting Room. Register Day Pass guest and schedule
room.

-- Mail and package notification and pickup.

Ours is a white-label solution. So, you’ve your own URL and branding. You
manage your email lists on MailChimp. Payment is managed by Stripe. You
get paid directly via your own Stripe account. We are looking for pilot
coworking spaces. Contact me if you are interested. I will be at GCUC
Austin next week. Catch me, if you want to see a demo.
