I would just tell people that when it comes to printing and all other scarce resources in the space, let your conscience be your guide.
People know when they're pushing their limits. If you make a safe space for them to tune into that and communicate it, they'll feel safer and respect you more. Part of our purpose for building these communities is to tech people mutualism. The more folks start to grasp the idea that they're not just customers but agents in cultivating the thing that you're collectively building together, the more likely they are to stick around to help build it.
