Its the fact that an author has no ability to contact the tester to understand why a test run has produced a FAIL report. It then becomes an irrelevent report if we cannot verify the validity of the report. > How about an opt-out when CPAN is configured? That would be a issue for a considerable number of people. There are many companies that would see this as a security risk, as the report could potentially include data that they do not want public. It is likely to give Perl and CPAN Testers some bad press, which I would prefer to avoid ;) Cheers, Barbie. > > Lee > > On 26/06/2011 10:41, Gabor Szabo wrote: > >privacy concerns. > >Gabor > > > >On Sun, Jun 26, 2011 at 11:32 AM, Lee<lee...@gmail.com> wrote: > >>Is there a reason why CPAN cannot send anonymous test results, by default, > >>with the option for users to opt out? > >> > >>This may have been answered in a recent thread, but if so I missed the post. > >> > >>Lee > >> > -- Birmingham Perl Mongers <http://birmingham.pm.org> Memoirs Of A Roadie <http://barbie.missbarbell.co.uk> CPAN Testers Blog <http://blog.cpantesters.org> YAPC Conference Surveys <http://yapc-surveys.org> Ark Appreciation Pages <http://ark.eology.org>
