It seems there is a distinct lack of public BACKPAN mirrors. Reading any
documentation online refers to creating a CPAN mirror and running a copy
into a BACKPAN, without mentioning how to seed the original BACKPAN.

As it stands the funet repository is faulty. As Dave has mentioned the
WordNet-BestStem-0.2.1.tar.gz file stamp is out by a year on funet. As
such I'm not confident that the cpantester.org mirror is completely
correct.

I have been trying to find another publicly mentioned rsync to a BACKPAN
mirror, but none are mentioned. Plus the various attempts to find
modules via rsync has proved fruitless too :(

Does anyone know of an rsync I can use, public or private, that I can
use to seed a BACKPAN repository?

I also wonder whether there is a list somewhere that would indicate who
to ask to request an rsync for BACKPAN. If not then it would be worth
creating one so people know where to really start.

Cheers,
Barbie.
