Not sure. It's certainly an odd one, though I won't deny that I've had an awful lot of problems with the stability of certain parts of PPerl, and hanging processes is one problem area. However PPerl has just undergone (another) major rewrite, and is now being tested on *BSD, MacOSX and Solaris, so 0.14 will hopefully work without trouble.
