Yes this sould work. You might also need to rerun a bunch of installers
like cpsupdate for instance. Depending on how old was your previous CPS
install, you might also need to run some upgrade scripts. Please refer
to the release notes to learn how to do that:

It is always a good idea to backup your ZODB (var/Data.fs) before any
upgrade operation.
