Hi,
I go on having this problem, even translating with mcat. The strings that cause
UnicodeDecodeError when they are indexed are titles of documents that I create
programatically using some translations from translation_service, as you saw in
the code.
It's very funny that the error happends with some users (the name of the user
is included in the title).
Definitely, I can't assure what the cause of the error is. I tried to translate
messages from ZMI (to avoid possible Eric IDE problems) and the error remains.
I get these bug scenes:
1.- When the whole title is gotten from translation_service.
2.- When the title is assembled with member.getProperty('fullname') and with
translated sentences.
However, I got the same scenes with success in the creation of the document, so
it's seems like a heisenbug now.
I'm seriously in trouble with this as my portal should go to production next
week.
Do you have any other idea of how could I mend this?
This is another traceback of the exception:
{{{
UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xed in position 10:

207 -> indexRow = self._index.get(entry, _marker)

}}}
Thank you very much.

oh ok.

This way is the current CPS way to do it.

I'm using emacs myself but you should consider Eclipse + pydev +
subclipse as an IDE I guess.

you're welcome :)
