Hi,
Reading Nuxeo blogs yesterday, I found the news about the inauguration du
Portail Régional des chambres des métiers du Nord et du Pas-de-Calais -
http://www.artisanat-npdc.fr/sections/accueil
It's amazing!
I also found the Fackförbundet ST vid Chalmers Portal (I have no idea what
is written here - I can't read this language (is it German?) -
http://www.st.chalmers.se/
.se -> sverige -> swedish
Well, I would like to learn how to customize CPS to do this, so I have some
basic questions:
- Is this done only through CPSSkins?
Yes it is.
If not, how much these portals differ from a stock CPS (v. 3.3.8.1 e.g)?
I mean, how much coding is need to accomplish this? Is it possible to
quantify? Just an idea of how much work is needed!
On the look and feel side, little to no coding is required. On the features
side, a bit of coding is required ;) but thanks to GenericSetup a lot of setup
can be achieved and packaged as XML profiles in CPS 3.4 / trunk.
If yes, is the CPSSkins 'book' enough to learn this? What other doc
should I read/study? I really want to learn this! (The old problem of
documentation arises again :-(
The CPSSkins book is a good start. But mastering CPSSkins takes time. (it still
much easier than the previous box based system).
I would like to hear (read) any suggestion about this; it's was very
important to see CPS in a Internet Portal and not only as a Groupware/ECM
(Intranet) application. I have this exactly situation here where we're
planning a portal and CPS is one of the candidates).
You can have a look at the MyProject sample product that shows how to build a
customization product for CPS 3.4 and GenericSetup.
http://svn.nuxeo.org/trac/pub/file/MyProject/trunk/README.txt
You need the trunk (subversion or nightly build) version of CPS to run
MyProject.
Unfortunately the CPSSkins theme design part is still underdocumented.
The default themes distributed within CPS are also an interesting source of
inspiration to build your own theme with CPSSkins.
