The error was catched by CPSSkins' crash shield. In the ZMI, go to portal_themes>Options to disable it.
Then you'll get tracebacks, error_log entries etc

Perhaps somebody has already an idea. Its a new installation (3.4) running on suse, everything else works fine. We didnt make an additional installation like nx-lucene, we just installed the packages provided and some additional python eggs needed to run cps. Is lucene needed for advanced search?

No, it isn't.
