No, not really; she was asking to get stuff that was truly posted
here out of the archives of cpunks.

The archives of cpunks are many things, but in general they are
a reasonably accurate record of what happened here; I don't mind
being in them, and in fact I think that they serve to demonstrate
the truth of the matter.

Heh. I *have* a corporate job, thank you very much. And my boss
and the CEO know all about my life and have since day one. And I
have the good fortune to live in a consenting-adults state, so I'm
not in violation of laws here. Again, I don't mind the truth so
much. I put all my deepest darkest "secrets" on my home page just
to keep myself honest. I'm sure the jeffg and others of its type
have read them by now. You can't blackmail somebody when the whole
world already knows...

What I really mind, and this is not something that the cpunks
archive is really susceptible to, is when it's not true. As
long as the cpunk archives are an *accurate* record of what was
posted to this list, I'm not going to have a problem with them.

It may be quixotic of me, but I don't believe in hiding from
the truth. I've been there. It sucked. I went a little crazy.
Now I know better. I may not be sane the same *way* as everyone
else, but what I am now works for me.  Just hiding is boring;
these days I have other uses for nyms.

Didn't happen. Check

http://www.inet-one.com/cypherpunks/dir.2000.10.16-2000.10.22/msg00405.html

for the message in question. It is not a reply to a post of mine,
nor is my name in the "to" line, nor does it address a point I
made. It is written in reference to

http://www.inet-one.com/cypherpunks/dir.2000.10.16-2000.10.22/msg00375.html,

which was an AP story forwarded onto cypherpunks from a remailer.

>This e-mail, for example, is a letter to _you_, as well as to the list.

Yup. Sure is. I wouldn't be upset to see it characterized that way.
