The US Supreme Court issued a ruling today regarding the First Amendment's
protection for publishers of material they gained legally - in today's
ruling, the information was a tape recording of a cell phone call which had
been intercepted illegally.
The court said that the First Amendment protected the radio broadcast of
that tape, despite the fact that the original recording had been made
illegally.
Let's be grateful that at least a few shreds of the Constitution are
apparently still in effect.
The opinion is at <http://supct.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/99-1687.ZS.html>
for those who care to play along at home.
