Sadly, I don't think there are such instances. 

But, given the potential for change that community media represents, I don't 
see why some effort may not be put in to creating the kind of community support 
represented by a barn-raiser. As Ashish points out, the Prometheus site has 
descriptions of instances of barn-raising events held in rural USA to put 
together community stations. 

Every effort to build a sense of community will of course, be different, as so 
much depends on the dynamics of the local communities, few of which are immune 
from the pernicious effects of decades or more of mai-baap sarkari. It would be 
nice to see Hevalvaani document its ongoing efforts.
