Wait... I thought this process was well underway. Isn't this why Generation
X is the first generation in US history whose standard of living is actually
declining compared to its previous generation? We will be (are?) the most
educated generation in US history (no doubt to try and make up of the
influence of a global market), but the first to experience a fall in the
standard of living. We can also then move to any country and are almost
guaranteed of living like a millionaire with our PhDs from the best
educational source in the world. What a land of opportunity!?!?

*Snip*

Newsflash: Imperialism creates higher standards of living than are realistic
under socialism, unless approached and applied on a global scale.
Translated, this will mean (unless we overthrow capitalism in one gulp
worldwide) a drop in standards of living in the first world. Asking the
Imperialist country working classes to drop in consumption is the *only*
progressive answer, since it is likely the only one connected to revolution.
