Tahir, it's good to have a re-appraisal of the purposes of a list from time
to time so I appreciated your message.

I think the 'crash' will be exactly that: out of control, painful for most
and chaotic and, possibly, unsurvivable. That is why we must avoid it rather
than imagine what, if anything, might come after it. Avoiding the crash
means changing the system. Changing the system means a) a vision of a new
system as a target to aim for, and, b) a way of getting from the system we
are in now to the target in a responsible and secure manner which everyone
can understand and support.
It's as 'simple' as that and that is what I suggest we mainly discuss.
