Writes Mark:

Now children, don't fight in your little sandbox. Mummy has some nice
medicine for you:

I would have posted the entire BrainFood newsletter, Mark, but I am more
conscious of bandwidth these days .. :-) Perhaps you should make pointers to
it on the CRL website. Right now, I offer this recommendation of Hanson's:
"Here is a book that EXPLAINS WHY we evolved to be violent like the chimps
instead of comparatively peaceful like the bonobos: DEMONIC MALES: Apes and
the Origins of Human Violence, by Richard Wrangham & Dale Peterson;
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0395877431/brainfood.a
Don't let the name throw you a curve; it's not a polemic against men. It's
well written (interesting from start to end), even-handed (scientific), and
explains why we evolved to act like chimps instead of bonobos. In fact, this
book broke my house record for paperclips and highlighter. E.O. Wilson
endorses this book. I love it! (Please pass the bananas."
(That last won't endear the book to you, Mark.)
>Meantime, he offers this link for those who (he says) "may be interested in

I'm interested in the James K Galbraith piece also URL'd in the newsletter.
Anybody who got this far in this post and wants it, lemme know. Economic
growth indeed. You were so correct, Mark, earlier when you were strangling
"sustainable 3-4% ..."
I whooped.
Welcome to 2001, Folks. Close the Pod Bay door on your way in.
