Well said. The fact that the US will increasingly become an aggressive,
militaristic, and ruthless enemy of human kind (not to speak of global
environment) should be our first point of departure. And this stems from the
contradiction stated above. It is interesting to see what has happened with
imperialism in a century. While the old suction pump, England, was more or less
au pair with her rivals in 1901, what we have now is a Behemoth sucking the
planet dry, on the sole power of its armies.
In THIS sense, I cannot but agree with Mark that the USA have given democracy
away. Shall we see a Babylonian garrison arise North of the Bravo River?
