I wouldn't have replied to the below, which is just a honest statement of
belief of an individual who I respect. But I cannot let the final sentence pass
unreplied. My own answer to Mark on this poll would be a counter-statement, but
I sent it offlist and prefer it to remain so, because I hate the idea that
CrashList becomes a muddy pigpen where A sends her or his universal statements
while B retorts with equally abstract opposite ones.
I must, however, say that when Tahir Wood writes:

he is not expressing any "fundamental truth" but a set of propositions many of
which can be strongly rebutted. Moreover, I would add that some are
representations of the world view of the imperialist bourgeoisie cast in
Leftist terms. So that, while of course I accept Tahir's right to adopt those
points of view and to defend them, and I also allow myself the right to
politically debate them, I feel that the last sentence of his posting, namely

is in itself a lie. None of the above were "fundamental truths" IMHO, and many
can be arguably demonstrated to be imperialist Leftism.
