This is a very important battle with significance for the global capitalist
economic order.

I acknowledge Nestor's formulations about how this signals further attempts
to put the burden on the working class of Argentina.

However from outside the Argentinian state looks bankrupt of economic
strategy. As reported on CNN the commentators merely note that despite a
$40 billion loan and impeccable obedience over the last two years to
everything the neo-liberal global orthodoxy could wish, Argentina is still
stagnating.

Whatever short term solutions are found, this personal crisis reflects a
problem that will become still starker: how even a relatively developed
country like Argentina can retain and develop its own economic surplus in a
neo-liberal global economy.
