This is my intention. Once I'm satisfied with colors, I'll go on with
other swatch types (see <http://create.freedesktop.org/wiki/Swatches>)

Very interesting. I've been thinking lately on implement a palette file format
for Synfig Studio.
I was considering to use same format as Gimp but after see the xml
specification from SwatchBooker
it seems reasonable to use it as our standard. That would give us the opportunity to import several
palette formats from other applications and make the Synfig Studio ones easily portable. Also it is
possible to save the palette format within the animation file.
I'm not aware about any discussion on palette format in this mailing list. Can
you guys enlight me?
Is there any open standard on pallete definition?
Well... I've pointed out a few times that we really want to cover swatches,
which are far more than just color. The CREATE color effort stopped at color
and color only.
I think that Synfig is exactly the type of application that needs swatches in
the general graphic arts sense of the word.

I've got code started for Inkscape, and now that 0.47 has been released we can
be moving forward on it.
Also... it appears that all the color set work with professional companies
Scribus is doing might also need this.
