Dear all,

Do you agree with substituting the current phrasing concerning transitivity and symmetry in CIDOC CRM v7.3 for the one proposed by Martin, Wolfgang, and Christian-Emil?

*Namely: *
the bullet point under _Naming Conventions_ that now reads:

  * "Properties that have identical domain and range are either
symmetric or transitive. Instantiating a symmetric property implies
that the same relation holds for both the domain-to-range and the
range-to-domain directions. An example of this is E53 Place. /P122
borders with/: E53 Place. The names of symmetric properties have no
parenthetical form, because reading in the range-to-domain direction
is the same as the domain-to-range reading. Transitive asymmetric
properties, such as E9 Period./P9 consists of (forms part of)/: E4
Period, have a parenthetical form that relates to the meaning of the
    inverse direction."

would become:

  * "The names of symmetric properties have no parenthetical form,
because reading in the range-to-domain direction is the same as the
domain-to-range reading. An example of this is E53 Place. /P122
borders with/: E53 Place. See the definition of "symmetric" in the
    section "Terminology"."

The motivation is that the wording found under Naming Conventions in V7.3 is inaccurate, and the reason to delete the reference to transitive, asymmetric properties, seeing as the information is repeated in the _Terminology_ section --see definitions therein.

*Please reply by yes, no, or N/A by March 22. *

All the best,
Eleni

I think this version is clear and gets to the point.
