Best, Eleni ================= Dear colleagues, In connection with the ICOM Documentation Conference, which will take place in November of this year in Tervuren, Belgium, the working group responsible for the Spanish translation of CIDOC CRM has organized the Working Day of the CIDOC CRM Spanish Translation Initiative, a satellite event of Tervuren 2026. The event will be held at the House of European History and is co-organized with the CIDOC CRM SIG and ICOM Documentation. The first, entitled “Methodologies and Working Processes of CIDOC CRM Translation Groups,” aims to share and examine the methodologies, strategies, and working practices developed by the various international CIDOC CRM translation groups. This discussion is based on the recognition that translating CIDOC CRM is not merely a linguistic adaptation, but a process that directly influences the interpretation and articulation of its ontological concepts. The terminological and semantic decisions adopted during translation shape the understanding, application, and ultimately the appropriation of the model within different cultural contexts. Regarding the session format, we propose a hybrid modality. We believe it would be beneficial to begin the day with a series of short presentations to help participants become familiar with the broader context, the various translation initiatives, and the methodological approaches adopted by each group. This will be followed by a structured discussion focused on the exchange of experiences, the identification of shared challenges, and the examination of specific issues related to CIDOC CRM translation processes. The session will be streamed online so that members of our communities who wish to follow the discussions and participate through questions may do so remotely. Once we finalize the program, we will distribute a registration form. This is an open and free-of-charge activity. *Should you be interested in participating, we would appreciate receiving the following information no later than Friday 31 July 2026:* - Confirmation of participation. Each presentation will last 15 minutes. Please provide a brief contextual introduction and indicate which issues, based on your experience, you consider most important to communicate. - Name(s) of the presenter(s). - Provisional title of the presentation. - Language of the translation represented. - Mode of participation (in person or online).
