Yup, and my girlfriend's dad just bought a "fully restored, no rust, perfect condition with a rebuilt engine" MG Midget over ebay and when it was rolled off the trailer he found rust on the body, in the trunk, in the engine bay, and under the doors. The oilpan was full of metal shavings (he showed me the pile- - there was a LOT of crap in there) and the oil was basically sludge. The engine is so worn it's not even funny. The shift knob was about the only thing in decent condition on the thing.
IMHO buying cars over Ebay should be done only by people who can afford to be ripped off.
