Mine was around $150 (USD) and I had a local muffler shoppe do it. My
muffler is a "Bullet" stainless steel but it's just a "generic" replacement
which is suppose to flow better than stock yet still provide sufficient
back pressure. Some things I like about it is:

- It's a few pounds lighter than the stock Si muffler.
- It looks good (I've had it on the car since 1999).
- It has a very low and mellow tone. Not loud and raspy.

Last year I replaced the stock catalytic converter (Random Technology) and
exhaust header (DC Sports) for even better flow and performance yet still
being smog legal.

My recommendation would be to go to a "muffler" only type shoppe (like
mine) and get an estimate. Chances are good that you're going to pay a lot
less (even for the bolt-on kits that are available) and it shouldn't cost
extra to have them weld it together (some shoppes just clamp the pieces
together). If they do, then go somewhere else.

If you don't want to deal with muffler shoppes and want a bolt on kit
that's affordable (less than $300), the PaceSetter are in the low to mid
$100s (USD). I've used them on my VW's (and a Porsche I use to own) with
excellent performance. I can only assume that for the Honda's it's the same...
