you know, I took it apart and did some investigating and I saw that
timeing belt was missing a few teeth so I think I'll just take it in to
the mechanics. The clutch has also gone out, so, I think that I
could get some sort of a deal for getting both fixed at once. but im
not exactly sure about how much that should cost (w/ both cam belt and
clutch). It does have just over 200k miles on it so I don't know how
much money I'm willing to put into it, but the engine was replaced
altogether at about 100k miles. So, if you have any suggestion on
how much this should cost I would love to use them to compair.

cam/timeing belt loose
The tensioner could have broken... did
it jump a bunch of teeth?

is there any way to tighten the cam belt on an 88 si? I
believe that it is only loose and not broken. the crx will
not start because of it. |
