Hello everyone! I need some help. I just had a new right front axle and 2 cv
boots put on my 91 CRX DX last week. This week I have come across two new
problems.
#1: My emergency break light will not turn off. It doesn't feel like the
break is one so I'm assuming it's electrical.
Brake fluid is low or the momentary switch at the parking brake handle is bad/broken.
If the level of brake fluid is OK then there might be a short somewhere between the brake fluid level sender.
#2: My car begain to make a whistling noise today. When I push on the
accelerator, I can't hear it but when I'm just cruising whether in a gear or
in neutral, I hear a high pitch whistling sound. What's wrong?
Mine does this. It's become a sort of trademark of my car. :^) It's something inside the intake manifold or the throttle body itself. Jiggy only whistles when under load. When I installed the AEM CAI, the whistling was a but louder due to the location of the air cone filter. Some kids think that it's some sort of Turbo system. Some think that it's NOS. :^D Should have heard it when my alternator was squealing on me a couple of years ago; the alternator sounded like a Supercharger and the whistling made people think that the Supercharger was kicking on and off. :^P
Any input would be helpful cause I kinda suck when it comes to mechanical
malfunctions. Thanks.
Beth
I would be more concerned about the brake light being on more so than the whistling.
