Okay,
I've been experimenting with the ignition timing on the D16Z6 (it's got a Gude cam & adjustable sprocket). Basically, there are two personalities to the motor depending on how the timing is set. If the timing is set for optimum power output (call this "race mode"), low end suffers and gas mileage drops (about 25 mpg). If advanced a few degrees (call this "daily driver mode"), acceleration is even and gas mileage is acceptable (28-30mpg) but top end power drops. MSD has an ignition timing control (part #8680) that works "with any MSD ignition control" so the question is does this work with an MSD 6A? Anyone got one of these? It sounds really, really cool!!!
