Maybe some of you have heard rumors of electric cars eating up Ferrari's with almost no effort? To witness: http://www.acpropulsion.com/tzero_pages/Ferrari_race/tzero_ferrari.mov
Now check this CRX conversion project using the same AC 3 phase Siemens motor, http://www.austinev.org/evalbum/194.html the conversion is capable of low teens in the 1/4 mile (my interest). Approximately $11,000 to convert.
Now some of you may not give a hoot. But some of you might be thinking about it seriously. I am , and made the recent decision to do the conversion. It's kind of a scary thought I know, but I am over it now. In case you were wondering, I will be using the same Siemens electric motor used in the electric car that whupped the Ferrari. So you might think of the possibilities. I know also that there are some who might be intimidated by the thought of all those electronics involved. Like Victor did with his conversion, I will document mine online as best I can for those who might be interested. Victors car is loaded down with cells for transportation purposes. So most of his figures will not apply to this project. Things like the transmission will be removed in place of direct drive. And that T-Zero electric car is a production level car.
