Back many moons ago, I drove a 1978 510, baby blue. Great car to drive,
loved the clutch, hated the reverse gear in the first gear slot?! Rear
wheel drive on a 79hp engine (I think), 25 mpg no matter how you tuned
her, damn thing started rusting to hell- that's why we got rid of her.
Great sounding stock radio for her day...
Showing your age there, George... ;^)

Mine didn't have a stock radio. In fact, it didn't have one at all. It had the stock DATSUN blank. But the next Datsun we owned, a 1972 240Z did. And it had a semi-automatic antenna. :^) This car did have a rusting problem which was why we sold it. We parted it out and got more for it than if we tried to sell it whole.

As I told Brian, I had a 1970 510 Sedan (two door) that I picked up for $2000 (US). Needed some engine work but nothing too serious. Only owned it for about 3 months and I used it for AutoX and OpenTrack applications only. Basically the first time I ever bought a "race" specific car. Great car, but I someone made an offer for it which gave me enough to purchase a 1969 BMW 2002.

Anyway... yep... I think mine had 75 HP stock and I had thought about putting a turbo kit in it but at the time it was way out of my budget. So I went the dual Weber route (didn't have much experience with Mukuni's which was also recommended).

CRX content: nice cold day here in Florida- baby felt like she gained
10 horsepower! I definitely have to get a bottle of Purple Ice coolant
additive in her...

LOL! We're in a "warming" trend here in Southern Cali. The highs have been in the mid 60F and the lows in the 50F. Dry Santa ana conditions. But a couple of weeks ago, it was down to around 20F where I live and Jiggy's CAI really was peppy in the mornings! :^D
