I'll bet the rotor inside the distributor popped out it's hex screw and
is spinning freely (or close to it).  Remove the distributor cap and see
if this is the case- often the aftermarket (cheap) rotors will do this,
so dab on a little silicone to keep the screw in once you got it
tightened down.

It' been very cold here - too cold to be needlessly working.

I the engine make a different noise when you try to crank with a broken
timing belt. But it seems to be making the same noise but everything
seems to rock in the head. Would a bad distributor cause the same noise?
I should be able to pop the distributor cup to see, right? Anyway, it
seems to crank over faster with no fire. Any clues?
