I had some water leaking through the rubber gaskets that hold the 3rd brake light in the hatch glass, so I replaced them. After the next rain, I checked if they were working and I found A LOT of water. 1/8" standing. The mats were soaked. No way was this from the dripping (now fixed) gaskets.
Took me some time to find this... There are drain hoses that come down the inside of the C-pillars, I guess it's from the sun-roof assembly. These are SUPPOSED to go into rubber drains that empty out the rear wheel wells. Mine were no longer connected to the drains and were emptying directly into the hatch area. Since the rubber drains were completely packed with mud, I doubt it would have worked any better had they still been connected anyway. :/ All cleaned up now, with a little bit of silicone to ensure the hoses stay in the drains.
