Title: Physics lesson, tires, sizes and hydroplaning.
I use narrow studded snow tires during the winter, and they dig into the ice and snow like circular saw blades. I think that a smaller tire patch results in more weight on each square inch of rubber on the ground. I just kind of guessed this when I got snow tires. It seems to work very well. My summer tires are much wider and slicker and I have to watch it when I get into standing water on the road.
