The pilot of the shuttle went to high school on Guam and married a local girl from here. We were very proud of him. In fact, he had a Guam flag with him that was supposed to be presented to the local school system after his return. I saw his father in law just days before the shuttle lifted off. The whole family had flown to watch the liftoff and landing. I am sure that it was devastating for them to see the shuttle break up.
