Yes, I think I made an allusion to that in my original message. I agree
with Schneier that SecureRF website is full of what he calls "Snake-Oil
Warning signs". But I disagree that the info is somehow hidden. Papers
by Anshel et al. are published and available.
Regarding braid conjugacy cryptography I'm running with JamesD.
I am too, although I'd love to find more meat on the subject.

Thanks, I didn't know about Veridify. It probably uses the same scheme I
was talking about (Algebraic Eraser and CBKAP), as they claim it is
fast/simple enough to run on passive RFIDs
Did you find more on Veridify than the press releases?
Personal opinion: I still stay away from the company and their products.
I would too.
On the other hand, I can't deny that I find crypto based on group theory
problems (such as the conjugacy (search) problem) very elegant and
interesting. Yes, I am skeptical and interested at the same time.
