Bottom line, in a "competitive market economy": the locked-boxers get a maximum of 100% of the 'trustee' market share, and anybody who wants to make a buck can sell all they want to everybody else. OK, you're the CEO/Marketing manager of Media Moguls Inc. What market you wanna sell to? 100% of planet earth, or the few deluded sheep who are willing to buy crippled boxen? Ya bets yer money, and ya takes yer choice. With audio electronics at it current state, where less than $100,000 buys you a high-quality studio with mixing board, synth, multi-channel MIDI, and automated composing right thru to master CD burn, the barriers to entry for competition in the music business just aren't there. Distribution and sales all locked up by the corporate powerhouses you say? Ummm....Internet??? DRM just won't fly. Take it to the bank, and don't cry all the way there. --------------------------------------------------------------------- The Cryptography Mailing List Unsubscribe by sending "unsubscribe cryptography" to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
