Pardon an ignorant question. I'm trying to compile
Crypto++ 4.2 on Linux 8.0, and I'm using the gcc
version that came with Linux, which is 3.2. So I have
to apply the patch to Crypto, but I'm having many
problems, mostly because I don't know Linux well at
all.

I've saved the patch to disk, and I've tried typing in
"patch crypto42gcc32patch" and it just hangs. Looking
in the patch file, I noticed that it expects crypto
files to be in a "c42" directory, so I did that, still
no go. I also noticed that it's looking for a cvs
directory in the diff commands, but I don't know how
to mount a cvs directory. Is that my problem? Help!

Lawrence
