If it means anything we have one of those FPS things going at
www.mentorgames.com. Our work is quite a bit ahead of what we have
posted on the site. We are currently finalizing our hosting agreement
and looking for a web content person to bring it up to date.

The outline for the story is complete. The detailed script for
everything up to mission 2 is complete, and the actual content for
mission 1 is around 50%. Based on the fact that its only 2 of us and
we have been at this for a little more than a month, I would say we
stand a pretty good chance of doing something notable.

Where Crystal Space may be counting on developers to make a game to
increase membership; we are counting on the completion and playability
of our first level to get us more developers and artists. I won't say
that future versions of this project will not enter commercial
territory as both current developers work for the same software
company who also happens to be considering bridging into the gaming
industry. I will say that this first game will be completely free and
a tribute to Crystal Space. If anyone is interested in participating
in this project, feel free to email me or register on the
mentorgames.com site and make a post to that effect. If anyone should
choose to apply to our project, we ask that you be realistic as to
what you can offer in terms of both time and skill. The success of
this project may very well end up thrusting our employer into the
gaming industry. Consequently we will be more selective than some free
projects. Our employer has stated that if this game does well, there
is a good chance he will pick up the entire development team for
future commercial games. Until such time that the team is
commercialized and for the duration of this free game, I will be the
head contact for this project.
