If you can turn on a computer you are qualified :-)

Seriously, you can start small. Just see how CS works. Try a few of
the tutorials and try to use some stuff in CS. Then see in what areas
you are interested in mostly and what areas need most work. You don't
need a lot of experience. A fun detail: when I started Crystal Space
10 years ago, it was my first real C++ project and my first 3D
graphics project. So I learned it all by creating CS :-)
